What is Penny Wars?

• A contest within a company or between a group of individuals
• The goal is to collect as many pennies as possible, preferably more than the opposing team

  The Rules:

• Split your groups by department, floor, women vs. men, etc.
• Your teams should be created to cause as much rivalry/individual spirit as possible
• Teams will collect their pennies in a container kept in a centralized location that must be accessible to the opposing team
• Opponents can deposit silver coins or paper money into the competition's container
• In doing so, they will negate the equivalent value of pennies (i.e. - $1.00 lowers your opponent's balance by 100 pennies)
• The contest can last as long as you would like - we suggest the longest period be one month
• The winning team will be decided based on the total amount of pennies minus the total amount of paper money and silver coins

  Rewards:

• You'll be supporting families who stay at the House
• The winning team should receive some form of recognition such as a party, a casual day or week, or other company/organization thank you gifts
• The House would receive the profits from the contest
• Please take lots of pictures for a press release and the House newsletter!

  How can you get involved?

• Designate a coordinator for Penny Wars
• Contact the House and let us know about your participation
• Let your employees know so that they can begin collecting coins and dollars right away
• Design the competition to fit your needs and decide how you will have the employees compete and how you will reward them
